The Autism Sports Foundation creates a safe, evidence-based space where neurodivergent youth create friendships, build confidence, and improve social communication skills.
Through structured athletic movement and sports, we engage and enhance motor coordination, speed up communication processing, improve active listening, and build essential perspective-taking abilities. By translating the science of exercise and brain connectivity into fun, team-based play, we help every child find their stride both on and off the field
Autism Sports Foundation creates inclusive, structured team-sports experiences where neurodivergent children can build confidence, strengthen communication skills, develop coordination, and experience the power of belonging.
Our mission is to create a safe, collaborative space where children with autism build friendships and vital communication skills through team sports partnered with community youth leaders and grounded in real science.
We envision a future where neurodivergent athletes fully access the transformative power of sport: leveraging fast-paced physical movement and interactive play to strengthen neural pathways and cognitive connectivity, while fostering self-confidence, teamwork, and meaningful social connection

Our approach isn’t new; it’s proven. ASF’s model traces back to a comprehensive 2016 pilot study showing that team sports in supportive, natural settings meaningfully improve balance, coordination, language development, social communication, and peer relationships. Participants from that original cohort have gone on to real academic and athletic success, and we’re now formalizing that evidence through ongoing clinical research.

Trusted by our volunteer
“My daughter feels comfortable. She can be herself, enjoy all the sports, and make new friends. I love how the coaches are patient and accept our kids.”
“He now knows how to dribble, shoot, pass, and do scrimmages. We’re so grateful for the opportunity to participate in this program.”
“She had no idea what the concept of a ‘game’ was before joining Every Child Plays. But she learned the idea of doing drills, following rules, and doing things as a team. It has been great for her growth.”
